The Influence Decoder by scntfc A lot of kids watch a whole lot of television, and a whole lot of that television is actually advertisements for things that probably aren’t all that great for their physical (and mental) health. The Pacific Science Center put together a few salient statistics and asked us to distill them down into an info-motional-graphexplanationary-metric-o-graphic short film that should make us all think more about the messages we’re sending to kids. The exhibit is currently on view at the Pacific Science Center, but we’ve created this special version of the film specifically for us internet folks and those that may not be able to make the trek to Seattle to see it. So enjoy, and if you think this information might be valuable to others - particularly those with children - feel free to spread the word. Thanks for watching! The Making of a Mural by Siggi Eggertsson for Iceland Design Centre by Iceland Design Centre Graphic designer Siggi Eggertsson has designed his first full-wall mural for Iceland Design Centre. In place of a traditional sign post, we wanted to add something interesting to the Reykjavik cityscape – known for its beautiful urban art – and to put the Iceland Design Centre on the map. SWR took care of the painting and there were plenty of curious passers-by, peeking over the shoulders of the painters. In the afternoon, we invited our friends to join in a party to celebrate summer – and our new, beautiful wall painting. Take a look at the mural in the making!

Sketchbook, February 2013 by Seb Lester BlackLetter was used throughout Europe from about 1150 until the end of the 17th century. One of my current preoccupations is developing a set of modern BlackLetter capitals that are highly legible, in BlackLetter terms, and yet retain the richness and beauty inherent in this ancient category of letterform. From time to time I will film clips like this to record my progress. Prints and originals available from www.seblester.co.uk. Music by Carlos Márquez, http://bit.ly/ZmHyjywww.seblester.co.uk.
